On the ground with CWS

On the ground with the Centre for Wildlife Studies (CWS India) team. Chandan took us to a farm where an elephant, coming from the next door reserve, regularly trampled their cash (tobacco) crop to reach the tender bamboo it loves. The locals grow everything from millet, cotton, tobacco, to ginger, tomatoes, marigold, coconuts, chia seeds and more. These small holding farms about 6-8 acres are labor and oxen intensive using fertilizer and pesticides.
